1) South Africa is full of kindness. The other night I left my clothing in the dryer, and returned to find them folded and neatly stacked on top of the machine. Seriously. I was so blown away by this random at of kindness that I was very happy until I fell asleep. Everyone in the residence hall always says hello to me because they hear everyone else shouting out my name. My new friends laugh at me because I always greet everyone and say hello, but that is just about being polite and a winner!

2) South African's bring it on the dance floor. Until last night, it wqas mild dance parties at a braai and at some kid's flat. Last night we went to a club and I had such a fantastical time! They dance until 4 in the morning, sometime later depending on the crowd! I am learning how to groove like I'm from here, and it's way more impressive and intense than any hip dance shit at home. Folks bring it. They BRING IT!!!!!

3) Classes are cool. They are only forty five minutes long, but are four days a week. Two days a week I have class at seven forty five in the morning. Shit is wack. So so tiredly wack. Luckily my seven forty five class, or dawnie, on Friday has been canceled unless we need to catch up. This morning I slept until 9, and it was amazing. Granted, I went to bed at five thirty, but it was awesome. Mmmm. Sleep. Between classes I shuffled back to my room to nap. I have also started taking Zulu. Seriously. It's pretty fucking amazing. Also quite hilarious as I live a constant struggle to learn new languages!

4) The weather here is totally insane. One day it pours, and the next day it's at least 32 degrees. That's like 90 degress plus our good friend humidity. I can handle this weather, it reminds me of Taiwan and it's no problem. Other people are melting and not loving it. Also, I take a lot of naps. I've noticed that is the best way to keep me from missing home. Also, it allows me to be awake at night and dance!!!

5) We've been making some real good chill friends. Sweet and hilarious no nonsense South African ladies who are taking me and Karolyn (the most amazing Norwagian inter-galactical princess who I get along with stupendously because we are loyal to the death) to a real South African dance party. Apparently, there will be South African celebrities there, but since I only know Charlise Theron (pronounced Teh-ron not thee-ron) I will just be a dancing queen once again. I am just happy happy here and also I will now read my google reader.

IBO!
