France really knows how to do bathrooms right. Seriously. I'll put up the toilet next time. I spent like, nine hours here, in the airport not necessarily the bathroom, and it was all completely awesome.

This is on the way to the waterfall. This is just one picture of how incredibly beautiful it is out here. Like, seriously. I am not nature lover for sure. It's amazing. Trust me. Except the weather is really funky and making me a bit sick. One day hot, the other day rainy. It's awesome. I swear.

This is the waterfall. I hiked a bunch down the mountain in gladiator sandals. It was almost not worth the struggle. Just kidding!!! It was worth it! I find some things here I just have to feel a certain way as an international student. Let's jsut say there were a lot a lot of bugs and I've just gotten in the habit of spraying myself with OFF before I sleep. I got bit 22 times until I just gave into the chemicals.

We went to like an alligator park. First we went to a Zulu camp that really reminded me of the 1919 Saint Louis World Fair or something. I was really not please. But then we saw a bunch of alligators and the UC paid (well we paid but now they did) for a delicious huge buffet meal. Roast beef? Awwwwww YEAH! Seriously. Mmmmm.

Zuma, the president of the ANC (African National Congress..?) was in Pietermaritzberg yesterday because he's at court. Some of us went to hear him speak. It's pretty awesome how politically conscious and charge people are. This democracy is less than 15 years old. The college students are really serious about voting, which makes a lot of sense considering all of them were alive when apartheid was still legally real. This is so eye opening to me. I was scared to bring my camara out, because I didn't want to get robbed. I think unemployment is like, 47% here. We hear about Zimbabwe almost everyday. It's really crazy folks. I am safe here, minus the hassel of walking around as a woman. But I'm strong, you know. You know.

these pictures are really nice!
i'm so proud of you! hope all goes well and that you stay safe. yay for OFF :) don't use too much though, it may grow to be a bit too ineffective. if you want, I can see what we have at our labs here and see if you'd want some or that they may be stronger in the long run?
