1

I'm sitting on this light green futon, sugared up from this new (to me) Trader Joe's cereal and pineapple juice, thinking about how good it is to be positive about life. This is my new blog-- Part III? The best edition for sure. My goal is to list out the next two months in three to five bullet points a day before I leave for South Africa. Hopefully I can stick to this one because I think that the discipline will be good for me. It was too hard to write poetry, short stories, or letters everyday. So here we go! Number One!

1) It's that time of the month where UCI's "Ring Mall" is filled with stalls peddling knock offs and other ephemeral junk. I stopped by the used book station and slowly went through book because I just happened to have an hour to kill. I found this awesome book! It's really funny and just what I need in this point of get-over-dom.

Whether you have been recently dumped and are still reeling from the shock, or whether you are nursing an older wound, you will find within these stories solace and truth. Two things all hearts, broken or mended, require.

2) I went to the financial aid meeting for studying abroad. I have this really limbo-feeling about going abroad. I'm really scared!! Everything that happens is a baby step towards a thirty hour flight and four and a half months of relegated independence. I bought this expensive plane ticket to stop by for nine hours in Paris so I could get away from being Grace Young pre-defined. Blah blah blah!!

3) Finals will be done in two weeks and I will be working, knitting, sewing, reading, and learning another hobby hopefully. When I was in high school I use to call my hobbies parlor tricks because I felt that they were all performative. I don't like performing, so my new hobby will be something that I can only do for myself. I'm already super talented at nail painting so I will need to think hard!

4) I am going straight back on the super fast express speed rail to high school awesomeness. When I was at Trader Joes, the cashier kid told me he liked my Misfits shirt and that he hadn't seen anyone in Irvine with one on. Instead of being a good conversationalist, I just mumbled that I wore this shirt to bed and I am lazy and that's why my groceries were all so stupid. Mmmmm. Groceries.

5) I have really good room mates. Tra and I went to eat fake food (not authentic Indian and Thai deliciousness) from Wholesome Choice, and all we did was laugh laugh laugh. Lately I have been feeling super dry (proof in my excellent conversation skills) so it was really good to feel awake and alive again.

Okay. Soo my life is awesome.
